Theodor Jensen Ends Barcelona Prologue On Top Ahead of Season Opener

Theodor Jensen heads into this weekend's European Le Mans Series opener at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in strong form, having set the fastest lap on the final day of the official ELMS prologue earlier this week.

CLX Motorsport's #37 ORECA 07 finished the second and final day of ELMS testing in Barcelona at the top of the leaderboard. The quickest lap for the Swiss team was set by Jensen, a 1:30.014, as part of a productive 85-lap run for the car in the four-hour session.

The result caps a strong start to Jensen's first season in LMP2, after the Dane stepped up from LMP3 over the winter. He stays with CLX Motorsport, the team he took to the LMP3 championship last year, a campaign that included a memorable victory at this very circuit.

"It's been a really positive couple of days," said Jensen. "The step up to LMP2 is significant, but the car felt great straight away and the team has done an incredible job preparing it. We got through everything we wanted to in the run plan, and to end the final day on top is obviously a nice bonus."

"Coming back to Barcelona always brings back good memories after our win here last year. But this is a new category and a new challenge, so I'm not getting carried away with one fast lap in testing. The grid in LMP2 is seriously strong this year. That said, we know we have the pace, the team is in great shape, and I genuinely can't wait to get the season started this weekend."

Race action gets underway at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend, with the four-hour ELMS season opener raising the curtain on Jensen's LMP2 campaign with CLX Motorsport.
