Imola Hat-Trick: Theodor Jensen Extends Perfect Season with Commanding Win

Theodor Jensen and the CLX Motorsport squad have once again proven why they are the undisputed front-runners in the 2025 European Le Mans Series LMP3 class. In a turbulent 4 Hours of Imola, the #17 Ligier JS P320 driven by Paul Lanchère, Adrien Closmenil, and Theodor Jensen soared to their third consecutive victory — securing the win, pole position and maximum points once again.

A Chaotic Race Mastered by Composure and Class

The race at Imola was anything but straightforward. With temperatures soaring above 32°C and the looming threat of rain, the 44-car grid faced one of the most unpredictable races of the season. For the LMP3 field in particular, chaos reigned: collisions, weather gambles, drive-through penalties, and strategic gambits shuffled the order lap after lap.

Despite the turmoil, the #17 CLX Motorsport entry stood tall. The trio’s pace was evident from the start, with Lanchère leading from pole. However, an early incident with M Racing’s Ligier resulted in a drive-through penalty. Undeterred, they charged back through the field with a strategic and clinical approach.

Wets, Woes, and Winning Margins

When rain began to fall halfway through the race, teams scrambled to react. The #17 briefly switched to wet tires — a move that, in hindsight, didn’t yield the expected advantage as the rain abated. Yet even that minor setback couldn’t halt their momentum. Once back on slicks, Jensen and his teammates methodically rebuilt their lead, navigating multiple Full Course Yellows and Safety Car interventions with precision.

By the final hour, Adrien Closmenil had stretched the lead to more than 50 seconds. When Theodor Jensen took the wheel for the closing stint, he delivered a masterclass in pace management and racecraft. He brought the car home two laps ahead of the closest rival sealing an emphatic win and a third straight perfect weekend.

Three for Three: A Dream Start to the Season

This Imola victory marks the third win from three races for Jensen and his co-drivers, each one secured from pole position. The results are nothing short of dominant: 3 poles, 3 wins, maximum points.

In a class renowned for its unpredictability, this level of consistency is almost unheard of.

Eyes on Spa – The Championship in Sight

With this result, the CLX Motorsport LMP3 outfit extends their already commanding championship lead heading into Round 4 at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps in August. Confidence is high, but Jensen remains grounded:

“This race tested us more than the previous two. We had to fight back from a penalty and make quick calls in changing weather. But the team was incredible again. Everyone kept their heads down and executed. Three out of three is amazing, but there’s more to come.”

The #17 car may have had to weather the storm — literally and figuratively — at Imola, but the message to their competitors is clear: Jensen and CLX Motorsport are the team to beat in 2025.
