Theodor Jensen Claims Victory in Road to Le Mans Race 1 with CLX Motorsport
Theodor Jensen delivered a standout performance in Thursday evening’s Road to Le Mans Race 1, helping secure a commanding victory for CLX Motorsport at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
Starting 9th on the grid, Jensen and teammate Adrien Closmenil faced long odds after a disrupted qualifying session forced the starting order to be set based on Free Practice results. Despite modest expectations, the No. 37 Ligier JS P325 Toyota pairing rose to the occasion.
Jensen opened the race with a determined and aggressive stint, overtaking multiple cars in the opening laps and methodically working his way through the LMP3 field. By the time of the mandatory pit stop, he had handed the car over to Closmenil in a strong position to fight for the win.
Closmenil capitalized on that momentum, making a decisive move for the lead in the second half of the race, controlling the final laps and taking the checkered flag first—a remarkable climb from the midfield to the top step of the podium.
“Starting P9, we didn’t really expect to win,” said Jensen. “But the pace was there, and I knew if we executed well, anything was possible. I had a great stint, and Adrien brought it home. Massive thanks to CLX Motorsport for a perfect car and strategy.”
The win marks a milestone moment in Jensen’s growing career, adding to his recent success in the Asian Le Mans Series and strong form in the European Le Mans Series, where he currently leads the LMP3 standings.
The second Road to Le Mans race will take place on Saturday morning at 10:05 a.m. local time.
